 Daves Snack Bar

NewsUser writes "I found a snack bar today by accident and I have to say it was awesome, the chap running it was an ex driver and the food was excellent, they make there own burgers and I had one and it was the best burger I have ever had, my mate had a bacon and sausage sarnie and that too was great, home made relish! Heinz sauce warbertons bread burger was £2 which was the bargain of the year, saus and bacon sarnie £2.20, the van itself was spotless. there is plenty of hgv parking apparently you can lay up overnight, access was easy ( modern business park). It was called Daves snack bar and it was on stretton business park off James brindley way, just off the A5121 Burton-On-Trent DE13 0BZ about 2 mins from the A38. The bloke there said he had been there since xmas and was thinking of jacking as it was so quiet so if you could put this on your site as it is the best place I have ever eaten in the country and as I say parking and access was good even in my wagon so it would be a shame to lose it! Cheers Lee Willoughby"

 TomTom GO 7000 Truck

NewsUser writes "TomTom WORK, the B2B division of TomTom, today announces the TomTom GO 7000 TRUCK, a device designed for trucks and large vehicles.

The TomTom GO 7000 TRUCK brings the latest navigation innovations, including Map Share technology. A new Map Share functionality allows truck drivers to make corrections to their map by adding or changing access restrictions for roads based on dimension and weight.

"Map Share is imperative in our strategy to deliver the best maps for trucks," says Thomas Schmidt, managing director of TomTom WORK. "Pre-installed restrictions mostly cover major and connecting roads, but with Map Share, the driver is able to improve the map up to the very last mile."

With the introduction of the GO 7000 TRUCK, TomTom's Truck Navigation technology is ready to go, with the software pre-installed.

The smartest route

When calculating the best route, the TomTom GO 7000 TRUCK takes the special needs of large vehicles into account. It delivers routes that favour major roads, avoid sharp turns and reflect the lower speeds that trucks typically travel. This means that truckers can avoid small town roads and narrow residential areas where possible. Secondly, the routing takes access route restrictions into consideration when the driver enters dimensions and weight in the personal truck profile.

Driver safety

Being equipped with Text-to-speech and Voice address input, the device increases driver safety by reducing the frequency with which drivers need to look at the display during the journey. Help-me menu and hands-free calling further enhance driver safety. "

 Caenby corner transport cafe update

Newsyangchar writes "Caenby corner transport cafe is now run by friendly local people our aim is to make the whole site a better place for you all.

We can park up to 30 trucks at present as we are looking at taking on a bit more land.
We have made the car park less bumpy now a a lot of our truckers will relate to the car park at caenby corner.

We have now just installed 4 showers at the cost of £2.00.per shower.

We open every morning at 7am but the kettles on and hot at 6.30am if you want to fill flask or a quick cuppa to take away, and we are open until 9pm Monday to Thursday so a full evening meal is available or our all day breakfast is still on.

We have a man on site 24 hours and cctv covering as much as poss of the car park and entrances we can note every truck that comes on site.

We are a lively lot enjoying every moment of the different people and sites that come into the cafe we make all welcome and we do have a sense of humor.

We are also known for the bits and pieces we sell from glasses to gloves its getting to be a regular thing getting a cuppa and a cheap pair of good gloves for 50p no one seems to miss a bargain.

ADMIN : Thanks for the update, your details have been updated. Happy new year !"
